I long to be free..

to be free from the worry of what tomorrow holds.

to be free from the fear that I will be seen to be a failure.

to be free from concern about what others think of me.

to be free from people knowing the dark secrets of my heart.

to be free from thinking that I am often unlovable.

to be free from having to think I'm in control.

to be free to love others without counting the times that I have.

to be free to serve without resenting when others don't.

to be free of the feeling that I can't save my children.

to be free from the sense that it's all my responsibility. Whatever "all" is.

to be free from the bitterness of holding a hurt.

to be free to forgive whatever the cost.

to be free from wanting the approval of others.

to be free from the feeling of "If don't do it who will?".

"It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery." Galatians 5:1

You have freed me because my loving heavenly Father has all my tomorrows in His hands.

You have freed me because you know my greatest failures and you accept me still.

You have freed me because I know you love me despite what I am like, not because of it.

You have freed me because you have taken all my shame and covered yourself with it at the cross.

You have freed me because you have demonstrated you're love for me by dying for me whilst I was still a sinner.

You have freed me because you are ordering all things in my life, big and small, for my good.

You have freed me because your love is unconditional, unchanging and faithful.

You have freed me because you came not to be served but to serve by giving your life as a ransom for many.

You have freed me because you love my children more than I do.

You have freed me because you only call me to be a weak vessel for your gospel.

You have freed me because you have taken all the hurt that I have hurled at you, still hurl at you and will continue to hurl at you, until I see you face to face and you welcome me home.

You have freed me because you have borne all the cost of forgiving me my sin.

You have freed me because you delight in me and rejoice over me with singing because I am an object of your grace.

You have freed me because you build your church. Not me.

Stand firm in the freedom of Christ. Fix your eyes on him and do not be enslaved by the lies that seek to crowd out his great love for you today.
