The resurrection of Jesus is central to the Christian faith.  Indeed, the Apostle Paul writing to the church he founded in Corinth, basically says if Christ has not been raised we might as well pack-up and go home.

Tonight (Thursday 24th) a group from the church, including some who came on the recent The World We All Want course are going to see the film Risen at Kingston Odeon.  (Meet at the Odeon bar 8:15pm for film showing at 9:10pm.  Contact Ben Clark for details.)

The film approaches the Easter story from the viewpoint of a Roman soldier charged with finding Jesus' body after rumours start circulating of a ‘Risen’ messiah. The Roman authorities know they could face an uprising if people believe the story. Pontius Pilate sends Clavius out to track down the body and confirm that Jesus is dead.

Next week, this blog will feature people's reactions to the film.

     1 Corinthians chapter 15 verses 14 & 17

... if Christ has not been raised, our preaching is useless and so is your faith...... and if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins.
